The Top 15 Family Friendly Events for This Weekend

Find Your Family Fun in the Frankfort, Scott, and Woodford Counties!

By Kristen Corbett, Publisher Mom, Macaroni Kid Frankfort-Georgetown November 30, 2018

My inner child is doing flips right now. I have always loved this time of year, but this year a few things are making this the most magical year since I was a kid. First of all, The Kid (my 2 year old son) is excited about Christmas. His joy, wonder and enthusiasm has proven contagious and I find myself showing him everything Holiday I can think of. We introduced him to Dr. Suess' The Grinch and have watched "Big Grinch" (as he calls it), with Jim Carrey, approximately 600,000 times.  He now knows Santa by name and points him out everywhere.

On top of the excitement, becoming a Mac Kid Publisher Mom for this area has helped me see all that this area has to offer. My family moved here in July, so this is our first year experiencing all of this, creating new traditions and banking lots of memories. Thanks to being a Mac Kid Mom I know what is going on and we are doing as much as we can without running ourselves ragged. In the past week we have had the pleasure of attending a few local events and even get to do a few giveaways as a result!

Finally, this Christmas season is extra special because for the first time in well over a decade, I live close to family. We moved here to be closer to my mom and sister and we are blessed to be able to see them all the time. Family and Holidays go together like cake and ice cream, and I am super serious about all of those things. This year we don't have to plan a quick one week visitation, we are able to enjoy the whole season together. I love that my son will get to grow up with that.

So what is there to be so excited about you ask? Well,  there are tons of festive, community driven events happening all over our Frankfort-Georgetown and surrounding area and honestly- my biggest problem is trying to figure out which ones I want to go to and how to fit them all in! Here are some of our top picks for this week. Make sure to check out our calendar to find all your family fun and subscribe to our FREE newsletter for a weekly breakdown of what's going on.
